Choosing a therapist can be daunting. You’re about to trust a stranger with intimate thoughts, difficult memories, and vulnerable feelings. Whether you’re in the midst of a life transition, struggling with anxiety, depression, or grief, you don’t have to do it alone.

Clients take a leap of faith by scheduling their first session, and it’s a privilege to be entrusted with the chance to work alongside them in their times of need.

My name is Mia King. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and my goal is to provide a comfortable and calm space where you can feel free to speak your mind and be yourself. Your goals and treatment are individually tailored, and I am transparent in the theories, interventions, and techniques that guide the process.

I received a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of New Orleans in 2014 and worked as a tech at a Psychiatric Residential Facility. I quickly realized I wanted to provide more help through therapy, and returned to UNO to get a Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Since graduating in 2016, I have worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, community counseling, mobile crisis, and private practice.

Typically I see individuals and couples ages 18 and older, from all different backgrounds with all kinds of occupations. I welcome LGBTQ+, and all types of relationships. I am guided through an existential lens and utilize CBT, IFS, and ACT components depending on each individual. I’m also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy to address trauma among other issues. For couples, I use EFCT and teach communication skills and conflict resolution.
